SNOH AALEGRA - WHOA

Snoh Aalegra is ending 2019 on a romantic note. On Friday the singer dropped the video for “Woah” off her sophomore studio album Ugh, Those Feelings Again.

The NO SCHOOL and Izabelle P. Wilson-directed video begins with Snoh in a lush garden and then positioned in front of a mansion. Later, she’s joined by her love interest, Michael B. Jordan, who holds on to her every note in each scene. Dressed in designer pieces from Julia Seemann, Stüssy, Rick Owens, and Sacai the couple — who are too attractive for one pairing — play house in a hauntingly beautiful home.

Kissing on a road, dancing in the kitchen, reading to her while in the bathtub — the video is so steamy it's sparked dating rumors about the pair. But the song was actually written about Snoh's love of music.

"Snoh wrote this song about love in its highest form, love for music, love for love," Izabelle tells Teen Vogue. "She was talking about a euphoric feeling that she sometimes gets when doing music. We wanted to create a visual that could transcend that emotion."

Born Shahrzad Fooladi to Iranian parents in Sweden, Snoh gained critical acclaim for her debut project Feels — but also received cosigns from Prince and Drake early on in her career. In addition to headlining her own tour, Snoh is nominated for two Swedish Grammys.

"The idea was to embody that surreal place between dream and reality that comes with being in love," Izabelle adds about the visually appetizing video.
